Notes and Stories about time traveling from a man who claims to be me. I post one page of the story per day (except Sunday)

The car was packed and it was a two hour drive to the get to the haunted house, which happened to be in the middle of nowhere, meaning it was going to be a long drive of looking at corn crops. Sam (Satoshi) thought at first it was going to suck, then he realized he was going to be sitting next to a pretty girl.

The road trip consisted of Calvin (Katsuhiro) driving and sitting next to him his girlfriend Michelle. Sam sat in the back seat with Lauren, Jessica, and Mike, who seemed an okay guy. In front of Calvin’s car leading the way was Paul and Samantha, Samantha’s little sister, and some other couple consisting of a jock and a cheerleader.

Sam was nervous sitting next to Lauren. He asked Calvin what she liked and Calvin told him just don’t talk about computers. Sam also didn’t know, but was wishing this was some kind of a date. He had hopes that Lauren would be scared, and she would need some one to hold on to, as seemed to be the plan expressed by Calvin. During the ride Sam started some small talk that seemed okay for the occasion and asked Lauren if she knew the story of the haunted house they were going to.

She said that all she was told was it’s a blue triangle in the air in the back of some old barn.

Sam looked puzzled “So how is a blue triangle haunted? like is it a haunted piece of art?”

“I’m not sure,” said Lauren “I heard it was a portal that’s floating in the air, and it’s in the shape of a blue triangle.”

“It’s a portal to Hell!” Calvin said, as he drove half smiling and making a half assed scary face to Michelle..

“No, it’s not!” said Michelle “On Wednesday it was a floating blue triangle, Thursday it became a blue triangle that was a portal, and earlier today it became a portal to Hell. For all we know it’ll probably be a yellow triangle that reads “You’re a sucker to have driven this far to see this stupid yellow triangle,” The only thing to probably be afraid of is some crazy farmer whose property were trespassing on.

It seemed the talking and stuff was going really well between everyone in the car, and then the girls had some inside joke that they kept saying out loud and none of the guys got it, but the girls thought it was really funny, and then they carried the joke on and on and Sam grew more and more annoyed, till the point that he could see a head ache coming on as he pressed his forehead to the back window and looked out at the “Moo Cows heee hee hee.” Then his fear of a head ache had gone away when Lauren asked about Sam’s family. Sam thought this was an “I want to get to know you” type question, stuff that a possible girlfriend might ask. Sam mentioned his older brother was in the military and is a mech pilot.

Lauren asked with no subtlety “Why’d he join the Military?

Sam casually answerd “My brother told me God likes soldiers. He explained to me when we play with our action figures, we don’t play with office worker Patrick, and Pizza Delivery guy Ryan. We play with the Flame Thrower dude and the Ninja Guy, and apparently my brother viewed life as we were God’s action figures, and he wanted to be the coolest action figure God ever had. That’s what my brother said. I personally think that my brother wanted to prove he was loyal and was faithful to Oceana because of how uncomfortable it is to be Eastasian.”

Once Sam said this the car grew quiet and Calvin turned quickly to give Sam an angry glance for bringing up the topic of ethnicity. One again Sam and Calvin and the rest of the people in the car some how felt divided. No one in the car felt any hatred towards anybody; it was just an uncomfortable silence that nobody knew what to say about or reply to, or think of a new subject that could lead out of Sam’s comment.

The war with between Oceana and Eastasia had been over three years before Sam was born. The war changed from Oceana fighting Eastasia to fighting Eurasia. However Eurasians generally look the same as Oceanans so it not as much fun to make fun of Eurasians as it is to pick on Eastasians. That is how Sam saw things, anyways. Most people in the car with Sam would say they don’t even think about it, but Sam had a hard time believing this from peoples’ mannerisms toward him. People were not mean to him but he believed they saw him as different.

Then Mike said “I heard there’s a lot of new cases of the Halo Virus happening in the military.” No one replied to this and Mike assumed he should shut his mouth.

Needless to say the romance was pretty much dead in the car. Now the only thing to hope for was a blue triangle in someone’s back field, or barn. Sam had not heard one matching story as the group drove towards there destination. As the drive went on, it appeared that Lauren was getting tired and she was leaning Sam’s way. Sam seemed ashamed of himself for feeling so giddy about Lauren leaning on him, but he was hoping they were not close to their destination, but sure enough The front car driven by Paul flashed its emergency lights, and pulled to the side of the road in a small dirt slope or ditch that looked like other cars used the area to turn around in.

Calvin pulled the car right behind. Before they could get out of the car, Paul ran to the side of the car knocking on Calvin’s’ window. Calvin rolled his window down. Paul stuck up a flash light to his face “Are you ladies ready for the portal to Hell!”
